Fulcrum Leadership
Chris Looney, Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Chris Looney, the Founder and CEO of Fulcrum Nonprofit Leadership, has committed his professional life to the advancement of the nonprofit sector. Today, Chris is most interested in elevating the field of nonprofit leadership and the capacity of nonprofit executives to succeed. Nonprofit leadership runs in the Looney family. Chris is the son of two legendary nonprofit fundraisers and his wife, Anisha, works in fundraising as well for a well-known research hospital. For nearly 25 years, Chris provided advice, guidance, and support to hundreds of organizations in his role as a senior leader for CCS Fundraising, one of the nation’s largest and most successful fundraising consulting firms. During his tenure with the firm, Chris partnered with thousands of nonprofit executives and hundreds of clients, facilitating billions of dollars to be raised. Through the years, Chris also served in key leadership positions connected to the nonprofit sector and philanthropy. AFP International Foundation for Philanthropy, AFP of Orange County, The Giving USA Foundation, the Giving Institute, Girls Inc. of Orange County, the Princeton Club of Orange County, and Mariners Church have all benefited from the leadership and engagement of Chris Looney. After decades working on the front lines of fundraising and strategy, guiding, and advising a multitude of nonprofits and nonprofit executives on philanthropic initiatives, Chris developed the Fulcrum concept alongside his other companies and book writing efforts. Chris is the author of two fundraising books, The Five Tool Fundraiser and 365 Fundraising Truisms. In addition to Fulcrum, Chris is the founder of The Five Tool Fundraiser (www.5toolfundraiser.com) and AltruList (www.altrulist.com), two additional companies serving the nonprofit sector. Chris and his wife, Anisha, live in Irvine, California with their three children. The family is actively involved with the local public school district, local little league, a number of charities, and Mariners Church.
