SEEKING EXTRAORDINARY LEADERS
Fulcrum Nonprofit Leadership is specifically designed for senior nonprofit leaders (all sectors, throughout the US, organizations of all sizes, various roles and titles) that carry significant responsibilities within their organizations.
Fulcrum is for broad-minded and ambitious nonprofit leaders who value life-long learning and peer connections. If this describes you, please consider becoming a Fulcrum Leader.
POWERFUL MEMBER BENEFITS
Fulcrum Leaders (members) find extraordinary value through the wide variety of offerings provided to members.
Connect with other accomplished nonprofit leaders across the nation and across sectors who understand your unique role, challenges, and opportunities. Through these relationships, members share insights, build valuable relationships, create opportunities for collaboration and partnership, problem-solve, and develop action-oriented solutions.
Every member is strategically placed into their own small, peer cohort group of no more than 15 leaders. With a professional guide and facilitator leading each “Fulcrum 15” Group, members will meet monthly to work through a carefully-crafted leadership development curriculum developed exclusively by and for Fulcrum Leaders.
During Fulcrum 15 Group meetings and activities, members will discuss trends, work through challenges, develop solutions, create strong peer relationships, and much more.
“Connection, Community and Compassion. Fulcrum offers an invaluable service to nonprofit leaders. Leadership is a lonely proposition. There is hardly anyone who understands our challenges. The opportunity to share, learn, commiserate and grow from the power and wisdom of colleagues is essential to renew and re-energize leaders and the nonprofit sector.” – John Kobara

THE FULCRUM SELECTION PROCESS
Fulcrum’s selection team carefully screens and selects applicants and referrals who meet essential criteria, who exhibit both the capacity to benefit from Fulcrum membership, and those with the willingness to provide value to other members.
Fulcrum recognizes that nonprofit leaders have a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and talents to offer the membership community. Fulcrum further recognizes that most nonprofit leaders didn’t come into their current roles through a graduate course of study and decades of progressive advancement in the nonprofit sector.
Fulcrum knows that nonprofit leaders have special needs that many leaders in the for-profit sector cannot even begin to imagine. Fulcrum further knows that many nonprofit leaders are responsible for startups and new initiatives, have transitioned recently from the for-profit sector, and/or wear many hats within their nonprofit.
Fulcrum uses a range of factors to determine eligibility based on a strong understanding of the varieties and complexities that exist within the nonprofit leadership sector. Generally, and unless there are special circumstances like those listed above, Fulcrum members meet the following minimum criteria:
- Senior level executive position within a recognized nonprofit organization
- Responsibility for managing a program or initiative, team of employees, and/or specialty area within your organization
- Strong references that share leadership qualities and capabilities
- Honors, awards, accomplishments, and distinctions that provide evidence of leadership
- A commitment to stay and be a leader within the nonprofit sector for the next year
Please note: Meeting the basic criteria does not guarantee acceptance. We reserve the right to refuse acceptance to any applicant. Further, Fulcrum will refuse acceptance to leaders within lobbying organizations or nonprofits that Fulcrum judges to not properly represent the values of Fulcrum or that have been deemed to not represent the interests of the broader community with an appropriate level of equity and/or inclusivity.
The information you provide to Fulcrum is completely confidential and will only be shared with our internal membership selection team.
