Become a Fulcrum Chair and Empower Nonprofit Leaders

Fulcrum is seeking experienced, mission-driven leaders to serve as Chairs for one or more small peer cohort groups we call “Fulcrum 15” Groups.

As a Chair, you will facilitate and shepherd a dynamic community of senior nonprofit leaders and help them to gain strategic insights, support, and guidance that will enhance their impact.

What is a Fulcrum 15 Group?

  • Peer Cohorts: A collection of senior nonprofit executives, locally – regionally – nationally-based.
  • Regular Meetings: Monthly meetings to network, sharpen skills, learn, tackle challenges, and be in community with true peers.
  • Small and Intimate: A roster of 15 or less nonprofit leaders, each of whom are dues-paying members of Fulcrum Nonprofit Leadership.
  • Expertly and Professionally Led: Facilitated by an accomplished and successful mentor, coach, and facilitator called a Fulcrum Chair.

What We Look for in Our Fulcrum Chairs

  • Significant Nonprofit or Executive Leadership Experience: 10+ years in an executive role within the nonprofit or social impact sector.
  • Passion for Coaching and Mentorship: A commitment to supporting and developing nonprofit leaders through peer-to-peer learning.
  • Proven Strategic and Facilitation Skills: Ability to lead structured discussions, ask insightful questions, and guide members toward effective solutions.
  • Desire to Build a Peer Community: Strong relationship-building skills and a drive to create an environment of trust and collaboration are requirements of the role.

Your Role as a Fulcrum Chair

As a Fulcrum Chair, you will:

  • Recruit Your Fulcrum 15 Group: Fulcrum Chairs are responsible for recruiting their Fulcrum 15 groups and ensuring that each recruited member applies for and is approved for membership in Fulcrum.
  • Facilitate Monthly Peer Group Meetings: Schedule and lead structured, high-impact discussions among nonprofit leaders, helping them tackle challenges, network with each other, and seize opportunities.
  • Provide One-on-One Guidance: Offer personalized mentorship and support to group members, helping them refine their leadership approaches.
  • Connect Nonprofit Leaders to Valuable Resources: Leverage your expertise and network to equip members with the tools and insights they need to succeed.
